Hipperholme Grammar School pupil is ranked 8th Internationally in Home Countries’ International Schools’ Cross Country Competition»

Hipperholme Grammar School’s Sports Scholarship holder, Liam Stedman of Birkenshaw, achieved yet another accolade on 27th March 2010 when he was ranked 8th internationally, in the Home Countries’ International Schools’ Cross Country Competition. Representing England, thirteen year old Liam competed against the best athletes from Scotland, Wales and Ireland as he ran the race in Truro, Cornwall.
He was chosen to compete for his country, after qualifying in 7th place in the National Schools’ Cross Country competition which took place the week before. The school also had two other athletes competing in this event; Paul Davis (13) of Clifton, Brighouse and Sarah Roberts (16) of Brighouse who were ranked in the top 150 runners (there were over 300!).
