We all enjoyed a fantastic summer’s day as we watched our children having so much fun as they represented their houses at our Sports Day.

Form 6 Sports Leaders
In the morning, assisted by our excellent Form 6 Sports Leaders, Nursery and Reception enjoyed a wide range of activities including: Teddy Bear Relay, an amazing obstacle course complete (to the children’s delight) with bouncy castle, the Long Jump and traditional favourite, the egg and spoon race. The children received much praise and support for the many proud parents, grandparents and friends who had come to watch.

After a roast beef lunch made to entertain our Italian visitors, Forms 1 to 6 took part in their races and activities. Round robin activities were organised for the first part of the afternoon: the old favourite the Sack Race, the Obstacle Course incorporating the very popular bouncy castle, long jump, goal scoring, and games to test the children’s throwing skills. After the round robin activities it was time to get even more competitive when the running races began. Each form did a lap around the field and a 100 metre sprint. It was then time for the last activity of the day the house tug of war!

At the end of the afternoon everyone gathered with nervous excitement in the playground as Mrs Reynolds announced the Sports Day House Champion 2010. The luckily winners were the Romans for the second consecutive year, well done Romans!
Tug a String Game
Later, the children and their parents, grandparents and friends enjoyed the tasty and plentiful BBQ provided by the hardworking PTA as well as the many games at the Summer Fayre. Children tried their hand at “Tug a String”, Apple Bobbing, Mr Cheema’s Higher or Lower card game and Pick a Pop Lollypop. A great time was had by all!
