Hipperholme Grammar School FFA
Hipperholme Grammar School Friends & Families Association (FFA)
The FFA aims to provide opportunities for parents and staff to meet and socialise with one another in a relaxed, friendly and enjoyable setting. Busy lives and often distant homes can sometimes make it difficult to get fully involved with the social side of school life, especially for new parents.
Our hope is that by extending our very friendly and informal FFA, becoming involved will be that much easier and more rewarding for everyone.
Each of our events has a fundraising element through which the FFA is able to make donations to local and national charities as well as supporting special projects within the school that provide immediate benefit to the pupils.
Some of the ways we have supported pupils within the school include:
- Providing the funds for a new piano to assist the Music department
- Assisted the Art Department with the purchase of new photographic equipment
- Providing funds for to enable the PE department to purchase new mats and equipment for the gym and dance work
- Helped the Duke of Edinburgh scheme with the purchase of a range of outdoor education equipment.
The Committee of the FFA is open to any parent who is willing and able to give what time they can to organise the events throughout the year. We meet a couple of times every term to plan and organise events.
The Head of the Foundation, Mr James and Head of the Junior School, Mrs Weller, attend the meetings and provide a good link with the school staff.
If you would like to know more about the FFA, how it operates and how to get involved please contact us. We look forward to hearing from you and to seeing you at the next Committee meeting or FFA event. For those who would like to be involved, but are not able to make the evening meetings, there is always a need for volunteers to lend a hand, either leading up to or on the night, and if you would like to give it a try we would love to hear from you.
