Pre-School Admissions

Welcome to Hipperholme Grammar Pre-School

Our teacher led pre-school education is provided in our separate early years lodge. The children are happy and engaged, they love to come to school, where they learn and grow in confidence in a warm and caring environment.
The children access learning through play, structured teaching and have access to excellent provision both indoor and outdoors. We ensure supportive, individual attention by having a small pre-school class. 

Pre-School Introduction

Preschool class (age 3+) is for children who are 3 on or before 31st August of that academic year and this is the main entry point for the School. 

The main intake for Pre-school is September. If you are interested in a January start, please let the admissions team know. Children are offered a funded place (15 hours), which can be applied to the term after their 3rd birthday.

Our sessions are as follows:-

Open 3 days a week – Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday

We do recommend children attend all 3 daily sessions 8:30 – 1:30pm to fully benefit from what the timetable offers. Attendance to our optional afternoon session from 1:30pm to 3:15pm completes our fun and learning packed day at Pre-school.

Pre-school children are all able to access the Government Early Education Funding scheme, entitling all children to 15 hours of free education.

Daily Sessions

  • 8:30 – 1:30pm → 5 Hours funded care per day (a total of 15 hours across 3 days). Lunch is included.
  • 1:30 – 3:15pm → This is a chargeable session at £21 per day for those who wish for their child to stay in school for the whole day and experience the full breadth of our curriculum.

Wrap-around Care

Wraparound Care operates on site from 7.30 am onwards and 3.15pm – 6.00pm. Attendance is not counted as part of the 15 hours funded sessions.
