Mad Science Club Marks its Debut!

We’ve welcomed a number of new members to the teaching staff this term.  Mrs Shah and Mr Clarke who are now teaching Chemistry and Physics respectively have been hard at work instigating the all-new ‘Mad Science Club’. Open to all years, the Chemistry room was full to the rafters with enthusiastic pupils from all years.

Mrs Shah said;

“Taking part in a science club is a wonderful way for children to engage with science. It gives them an important outlet to ignite new interest and raise attainment in STEM subjects through more innovative teaching methods which can inspire and motivate them to continue studying science.

Our aim here at Hipperholme Grammar is to provide out-of-timetable sessions that enrich and broaden the curriculum, giving young people the chance to explore science in less formal settings.

 The club runs every Thursday at Lunchtime from 1-1.30 pm with the first session held on 15th September in which we made Magnetic Slime. We had an amazing turnout and I am sure you will agree the pictures say it all.”
